The Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center presents “Container Gardening – Tips and Trends” from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, in Light Hall, Room 202.
Join Vanderbilt Plant Operations’ Laura Barker to learn how to start gardens in containers, get information on the best flower and vegetable choices, and hear about the latest trends in container gardening. Make the upcoming planting season the best ever using tips from an expert.
Barker has been at Vanderbilt for more than six years with Plant Operations’ grounds maintenance department. She earned a plant and soil science degree from the University of Illinois and has been working in the horticulture industry for more than 15 years. Her interests include reading, cooking and vertical gardening.
The event, which is open to the Vanderbilt community, is sponsored by the VRWC.
