Since 2012, Vanderbilt University has partnered with the School for International Training (SIT) to offer immersive, research-focused study abroad programs centered on critical global issues.
On Thursday, Jan. 19, Vanderbilt’s Global Education Office invites you to hear from two current Vanderbilt students about their own SIT independent research investigations and experiences in south and east Asia at the first Study Abroad Project Showcase. The event will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge of McTyeire International House.
Jenna Davis, a junior double-majoring in molecular and cellular biology and in medicine, health and society, will present “SIT India: Maternal Health Services in Rural Uttarakhand.”
Eliot Martin, a senior double-majoring in economics and public policy studies, will then present “SIT Vietnam: Supply, Demand and Policy in Domestic Seafood Markets.”
A representative from the School for International Training will be available at the event to answer any questions about their programs.
The Global Education Office (GEO) is committed to preparing global citizens by providing innovative and high-quality international learning experiences that build on Vanderbilt University’s commitment to academic excellence, global engagement and community service. More than 100 study abroad programs and scholarships are available. The School for International Training is a pioneer in experiential, field-based study abroad. SIT offers semester, summer and academic-year programs for undergraduate students in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, as well as comparative programs in multiple locations.
