Sarratt Art Studios will offer noncredit art classes to adults from Vanderbilt University, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Nashville community beginning the week of Jan. 23. Many of the classes are designed for beginners, but experienced artists are welcome as well. Classes are affordable and meet once per week for six weeks.
There are lots of reasons to take an art class: They are a proven stress reliever, build self-esteem, offer a break from your usual routine, and put your hands on actual materials and get them away from the keyboard.
Maybe you received a digital SLR camera recently? Then our Digital Photography class is just the class for you. We will teach you in six weeks how to use your camera with the manual settings plus a little on how to use software to edit those photos.
Perhaps you want your hands on some earthy materials, like clay? Join our Human Figure in Clay class to create original work while learning the qualities of clay and creating a figure.
Are you thinking about how to design your own jewelry? We have several different classes that will teach you techniques to create your own jewelry.
Perhaps you’d appreciate some time to sit and draw or paint for a couple of hours a week? Try our Beginning/Intermediate Watercolor class or Drawing Fundamentals class.
The noncredit classes are for those 18 and older. All classes will meet in the Sarratt Student Center. You can view the complete schedule of classes and register online at http://register.asapconnected.com/Default.aspx?org=4236.
