Few holidays say “family time” more than Thanksgiving, but for some Vanderbilt students, traveling home for the November holiday is not an option. Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos and his wife, Lydia, hosted an early Thanksgiving dinner for these students Nov. 21 at the Vanderbilt Student Life Center. Approximately 100 students attended.
“Being among the Vanderbilt family is special to me and to Lydia, and we could think of no better way than to spend this extraordinary time than with students staying on campus over the Thanksgiving break,” Zeppos said.
The group enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving feast prepared by Vanderbilt Catering that included sage-roasted turkey with pan gravy; halal pan-seared chicken; sage, celery and onion cornbread dressing with thyme; homemade cranberry dressing with orange zest; sweet potato cheesecake with candied pecans and caramel sauce; and much more.
