Vanderbilt will celebrate Giving Tuesday, an international day of charitable giving, on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday offers an opportunity to give back. Vanderbilt alumni and friends are encouraged to make a gift of any size to any area of Vanderbilt.
“Giving Tuesday offers a great opportunity during the holiday season for us to focus on philanthropy. Giving Tuesday donors will have an important and immediate impact on Vanderbilt and our current and future students,” said Melinda Phillips, senior director of volunteer outreach. “Gifts to all areas of Vanderbilt ultimately support our ability to provide the best experience possible for all Commodores.”
The Giving Tuesday movement, now in its fifth year and spanning 70 countries, is fueled by social media. The Vanderbilt community can join the conversation by posting on social media using #VUgives and #GivingTuesday, and by sharing stories about the importance of supporting Vanderbilt.
