Summer Send-off Parties are one of the university’s finest traditions. For nearly 50 years, alumni and parents in cities across the country have come together to welcome incoming students and their families to the Vanderbilt community.
In the summer of 2016, 47 Summer Send-off Parties were held nationwide. These events provided an important opportunity for first-year students and parents from the same area to connect with each other. The eager involvement of alumni also sent a clear message of what it means to be Vanderbilt for Life, and that our students have now joined a community that will not only support them in their city, but wherever they live after graduation.
