A trauma surgeon who led the team caring for victims of the July 7 shooting in Dallas that killed five police officers and injured nine others will speak at Vanderbilt on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
Dr. Brian Williams, associate professor of surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, will discuss “A Prescription for Healing a Nation: Lessons Learned from the Dallas, Texas Tragedy” beginning at 4 p.m. in Sarratt Cinema.
Following Williams’ talk, he will be joined for a panel discussion by Marino Bruce, associate director of the Vanderbilt Center for Research on Men’s Health and a research associate professor of medicine, health and society, and Hector Myers, professor of medicine, health and society.
The event is sponsored by the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in conjunction with the Vanderbilt Center for Medicine, Health and Society and the Center for Research on Men’s Health.
