Early voting for the Nov. 8 presidential and Tennessee general elections will be available at 12 locations across Davidson County from Wednesday, Oct. 19, through Thursday, Nov. 3.
Don’t wait until Election Day! Early voting is easy and convenient. There’s no need to wait in long lines on Nov. 8 when you can vote early.
- You can vote at any of the 12 early voting locations from Oct. 19 to Nov. 3, so bring a friend. View a list of early voting locations and their hours of operation.
- Voters must present a federal or Tennessee state government-issued photo ID unless an exception applies. Student IDs are not acceptable.
- A sample ballot can be reviewed at nashville.gov/vote.
- On Election Day, you must vote at your assigned precinct. Use the online Polling Place Finder at nashville.gov/vote.

Oct. 11 is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 8 presidential and state general elections. Take the following “voter checkup” to ensure you will be ready to vote on Nov. 8.
- Are you registered?
- Is your information current?
- Is your voter status “active?”
If you answered “yes” to all three, you’re ready to vote.
If not, here’s what you need to know:
- Are you registered? You can register to vote if you are a U.S. citizen, a Davidson County resident, and you will be 18 years old on or before Nov. 8. Download a voter registration application, print it, complete and sign it, and drop it off or mail it to the Davidson County Election Commission by Oct. 11.

- Is your information current? If you’ve moved within the county or changed your name, update your voter registration information. Simply write your new address on the back of your voter registration card, sign it and mail it to the Election Commission. Or use the change of address request form or update your information when you early vote.
- Is your voter status “active”? If you’re not sure if you’re registered, if you haven’t voted in the last eight years, or if you can’t remember when you last voted, check your voter registration status at GoVoteTN.com or call the Davidson County Election Commission at (615) 862-8800. If you have an inactive status, you’ll need to complete a new voter registration application and mail it or bring it to the Election Commission by Oct. 11.
