The Tennessean: Vanderbilt stays at No. 15 in list of top universities
Vanderbilt University held on to its No. 15 spot in the annual rankings of the country’s best universities released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report. The university also was No. 10 in a list of national universities with the best undergraduate teaching and was named the sixth-best national university for veterans. Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos is quoted.
Associated Press: Clinton’s pneumonia fuels debate about candidate health data
Anybody—no matter their age or how healthy they are—can develop pneumonia. And it’s possible the campaign trail’s grueling schedule increased Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s risk. Clinton’s illness appears mild, but it is fueling the question of what else voters need to know about whether she and Republican nominee Donald Trump are fit enough to be president. William Schaffner, professor of preventive medicine and health policy, is quoted. ABC News and Yahoo! News posted related stories. USA Today and The Weekly Standard feature a taped interview with Schaffner, which was conducted using VUStar, Vanderbilt’s broadcast facility.

Jedidah Isler, postdoctoral fellow in physics and astronomy at Vanderbilt, is featured in a story about her academic and professional journey into astrophysics. Isler credits the Fisk–Vanderbilt Master’s-to-Ph.D. Bridge program for getting her professional pursuit back on track after a setback.
