Auditions for the renowned Blair Children’s Chorus program will be held Aug. 13 and 15 at Blair School of Music. The program is founded on the principle of healthy, age-appropriate singing and musical literacy. It has a rich 30-year history of performance throughout the United States, Europe and Central America.
Blair Children’s Chorus comprises six choirs tiered to the musical development of boys and girls in grades 1-12. Beginning with Training Choir (boys and girls grades 1-5), they may progress to Nashville Boychoir (grades 3 and up), Choristers (girls grades 5 and up), Young Men’s Chorus (boys with changed voices) and Concert Choir (girls grades 8-12). Advanced treble students who sing in another BCC choir may audition for Chorale. Chorale often performs with the Nashville Symphony.
Concert choir tours have taken participants to Costa Rica; Dublin, Ireland; England; Germany; and throughout the United States.
Auditions will be held form 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 13 and from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 15 in Room 1009C at Blair School of Music. No prepared piece or appointment is necessary.
