Now in its third year, the Last Lecture is a new tradition for the Vanderbilt senior class. Each year the class selects a professor to deliver a lecture that includes advice, well wishes and fond memories. Stephen Buckles, senior lecturer in economics, will deliver this year’s farewell address on April 26 to a sold-out crowd of more than 150 seniors. The event is a partnership with the Vanderbilt Alumni Association’s Class of 2016 Student Alumni Board and Vanderbilt Student Government.
The Last Lecture is part of the Alumni Association’s Life after Vanderbilt series that provides practical lessons for seniors starting their life and careers. These events include Negotiation Workshop, Seniors and the City Networking Lunch, Grad Fair, Five Before 25 Young Alumni Panel, Etiquette Dinner and Money 101. Seniors also receive the Life After Vanderbilt guide with advice from recent graduates.
