The Vanderbilt School of Medicine Flexner Deans Lecture Series and Alpha Omega Alpha will present the 2016 AOA Ed Hollaran Lectureship at noon on Monday, April 11, in Light Hall, Room 208.
Steven Lipstein, president and chief executive officer of BJC HealthCare and a member of the National Academy of Medicine, will discuss “America’s Journey to the Triple Aim: Where Are We?”
Lipstein oversees one of the nation’s largest health care organizations, with $4 billion in net revenues and more than 26,000 employees in the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois and mid-Missouri regions. BJC HealthCare serves patients and their families in urban, suburban and rural communities through its 12 hospitals and other health-service organizations, including the Washington University School of Medicine-affiliated Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Lipstein serves on the board of trustees at Washington University in St. Louis, on the School of Medicine National Council, and is chair of the Institute of Public Health National Advisory Council. He serves as vice-chair of the board of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, established under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Lipstein is a former chairman of the board of directors of the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank.
