WOW March 30: ‘Justice After National Trauma – The Case of Cambodia’

International Student and Scholar Services invites you to World on Wednesdays, which gives students, faculty and Vanderbilt community members the chance to engage with other parts of campus through presentations on topics that address and open discussion on a breadth of global issues and experiences.

Topic: “Justice after National Trauma: The Case of Cambodia”

Jung Min Shin, a Vanderbilt senior, will look at the impact of the Extraordinary Chambers of the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), a U.N. tribunal created to prosecute war criminals from the Khmer Rouge, in bringing justice to a country with a weak national justice system. She will share her findings about public trust with the ECCC as well as interviews with an ECCC witness, a participating lawyer and Cambodian students.

When: Wednesday, March 30

Time: Noon–1 p.m.

Where: Student Life Center lower-level meeting rooms 1 and 2. The event is open to the public. Lunch will be provided.
