Vanderbilt enjoyed a rare snow day Jan. 22 as Nashville got hit with 8 inches of the white stuff—the most snow that had fallen in the city since 2003. With classes canceled, students took the opportunity to build snowmen, sled on whatever materials might be handy, or just get an early start to the weekend. But not everyone got the day off. Essential staff members in the Police Department, Plant Operations, Dining Services and Housing braved the weather to help keep operations running smoothly.
