Blair precollege program offers improvisational Jazz Jam

Jerry Kimbrough

Jazz is about listening, creating and sharing—all vital skills for making music.

Students in grades 8-12 are invited to join in the Jazz Jam, a once-per-week performance-oriented class whose goal is to share fun, creative approaches to jazz improvisation.

Jerry Kimbrough, master guitar teacher, composer and session player, welcomes all to bring instruments and voices. Tuition is $220 for the 13-week semester.

The class will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning Jan. 20 through April 20 at the Blair School of Music, Room 1190.
