The Office of LGBTQI Life announces two spring training sessions for its Safe Zone program: Jan. 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Rand 208 classroom, and March 2 from noon to 3 p.m. in Sarratt 325/327.
The Safe Zone program aims to create a visible network of support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) individuals and their allies. This program provides an educational experience and an avenue through which any member of the Vanderbilt community can show support for LGBTQI students and individuals.
This workshop is a three-hour commitment that encourages students, faculty and staff to explore their personal identities, cultural identities, privilege, and what it means to be an ally. After attending the workshop and creating an Ally Pledge, you have the choice to take a Safe Zone placard to showcase support physically in your office or room.
Register for a Safe Zone here (required). RSVP on Anchorlink.
