An operations manager and three new investment managers have joined the Vanderbilt University investment office.
William Staedeli, who was hired in April as operations manager, previously was employed at George Washington University. He earned his MBA from the Kenan Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He has a bachelor of science in engineering from Princeton University.
Priti Mody, Matthew McGanity and Michael Billings have joined the office this summer as investment managers, according to Anders Hall, vice chancellor for investments and chief investment officer.
“Bill, Priti, Matt and Michael are tremendous additions to an already strong investment team,” Hall said. “I am excited that we now have completed our third wave of additions and largely have finished the rebuilding of the investment office.”
Mody, who will focus on private market investments, previously worked at Cogent Partners and Prudential Capital Group. She has an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business. She earned her bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Texas at Austin.
McGanity, who most recently was employed by BBVA Compass, is a graduate of the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt, where he earned an MBA. He received his bachelor of science in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama. His area of focus will be on public market investments, particularly long-only equities and fixed income.
Billings came to Vanderbilt from First Pacific Advisors, and his area of focus will be on public market investments, particularly hedge funds. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a master of science in finance from the University of Utah.
Vanderbilt’s endowment consists of both traditional and alternative investments, including public equities, hedge funds, commodities, fixed income, and private market investments.
