Watch video of Vanderbilt’s Meet the Candidates Picnic which took place on July 16. The Vanderbilt community mingled with candidates appearing on the Aug. 6 Metro ballot at an indoor picnic sponsored by Community, Neighborhood, & Government Relations. All seven individuals running for Nashville mayor were in attendance. In addition to all mayoral candidates, one candidate for vice mayor, 19 at-large candidates and 32 district candidates for the Metropolitan Nashville Council worked the crowd and offered campaign information. Candidates also stood on a soapbox in Vanderbilt’s “public square” to briefly introduce themselves to the audience.
