A Vanderbilt law professor who attended the Supreme Court arguments on same-sex marriage is available to comment on the court’s decision.
Brian Fitzpatrick, FedEx Research Professor of Law, is an expert on constitutional law, judicial politics, judicial selection and federal courts. In addition to observing Supreme Court arguments on same sex marriage on April 28, he also participated in a moot court to help lawyer Douglas Hallward-Dreimeier prep for arguments.
Fitzpatrick served as a law clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia in 2001-2002 and as a Special Counsel for Supreme Court Nominations to Senator John Cornyn in 2005-2006.
