UPDATE: Security Notice – burglary on campus

UPDATE: On Sunday, May 31, a Subway employee was arrested, charged and taken into custody for the burglary of the Subway restaurant at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. The stolen funds have been recovered.

Original post: On Friday, May 29, at approximately 11 a.m., Vanderbilt University Communications received a call of a burglary that took place between 12:30-1:30 a.m. at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital Subway sandwich shop located at 2200 Children’s Way.

An individual entered the restaurant and stole $250.

Risk reduction tips

  • Report suspicious persons or activities to police immediately.
  • Avoid isolated or dark areas.
  • If strangers approach, maintain a distance and be observant; if they are in a vehicle, get the license plate number.
