The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is actively investigating an attempted burglary that occurred Wednesday evening, March 18, off campus at a residence near the intersection of 31st Avenue South and Vanderbilt Place.
As many of our Vanderbilt community members live in the area surrounding campus, VUPD wants to make you aware of the incident.
Incident description: A person overheard loud banging on an apartment door, and a witness saw the suspect, described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, who appeared to be trying to kick in the apartment door. The witness shouted at the subject, who then fled the area on foot.
Suspect description: The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s and was last seen wearing a sweatshirt, jeans and a baseball cap. There are no further details because of limited lighting in the area at the time of the incident.
