WOW: ‘Students bridging medicine, public health and global populations’

International Student and Scholar Services invites you to World on Wednesdays, where members of the Vanderbilt community engage in lectures, presentations and conversations about global issues.

Students from Vanderbilt’s School of Medicine engage in global health work, locally and abroad, through integrated science courses, research immersion clerkships and MPH practica. Hear students discuss lessons learned as they connect their medical and public health skills and knowledge with global populations. They’ll share challenges and surprises from their time abroad, as well as new skills and knowledge that they’ve learned to apply in local settings and in their long-term careers. Audience members also will learn about ways they can become engaged in global health studies and experiences.

The event is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at the Student Life Center in the lower level meeting rooms 1 and 2.
