Volunteers needed for Commencement 2015: Experience the excitement

Vanderbilt is gearing up for Commencement 2015 and needs volunteers to help with the three-day celebration for graduates and their families.

The Party

Wednesday, May 6
The Party is a dance party for graduates and their families held at The Martha Rivers Ingram Commons. This year’s event will feature the dance band The Zippers. Volunteers are needed for two shifts: 8–10:15 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.–midnight.

Volunteers for The Party receive the following:

  • Dinner that evening;
  • A T-shirt branded with The Party logo;
  • The opportunity to be a Party guest when not volunteering;
  • A gift for volunteering; and
  • A great chance to network with others across campus.

Senior Day – ALL VOLUNTEER POSITIONS NOW FILLED

Thursday, May 7
Senior Day will feature guest speaker Walter Isaacson, president and CEO of The Aspen Institute, past chairman and CEO of CNN, and the former editor of Time magazine. Isaacson is the author of numerous books, including a biography about Steve Jobs. He will speak about “Timeless Leadership.” Volunteers are needed from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Volunteers for Senior Day receive the following:

  • Lunch on May 7;
  • A gift for volunteering;
  • The opportunity to hear Isaacson speak; and
  • A great chance to network with others across campus.

Commencement Day

Friday, May 8
Commencement is the big day for graduates and their families. Volunteers are needed from 6:30 a.m. to noon on Alumni Lawn, or Memorial Gym in the event of severe weather.

Volunteers for Commencement Day receive the following:

  • A morning snack and lunch on May 8;
  • A gift for volunteering;
  • A great chance to network with others across campus; and
  • The opportunity to play a role in one of the university’s largest and most prestigious events, Vanderbilt’s 140th Commencement.
