Through Vanderbilt University School of Medicine’s student-run Shade Tree Clinic in East Nashville, medical and nursing students receive valuable hands-on training while providing health care to those in need.

Every year, Shade Tree coordinators select a member of the faculty who exemplifies the character and community commitment that faculty seek to instill in students.
Schorn was chosen for her work in supporting the Shade Tree Early Pregnancy Program.

She joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 2002 and has served as the director of VUSN’s Nurse-Midwifery Program for several years, as assistant dean of Academics and has practiced at West End Women’s Health Center.

Funds raised at the March 25 dinner and auction will help provide ongoing support for the clinic.
