Nominate a faculty or staff member for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award will be presented Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, to a faculty or staff member in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing or at Vanderbilt University Medical Center who emulates the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through his or her work. This service can be in areas related to creating a better understanding between people of different cultures; working to enhance the economic and health status of individuals; or fostering a community at Vanderbilt symbolic of King’s teachings.

The award will be presented at the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture, part of Vanderbilt’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Series celebration. A committee of individuals from the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing and the Medical Center will serve as judges for the award.
 All nominations are due by Monday, Jan. 5, and must include a letter of recommendation as well as the nominee’s resume.
