Theft and assault on campus – UPDATE

UPDATE: One of the suspects in the theft and assault that occurred at Stevenson Center on Tuesday, Nov. 11, has been arrested on multiple charges, including assaulting a professor. The suspect pictured below is still at large.

The Vanderbilt University Police Department continues to investigate this crime and is working to apprehend the second suspect. If you have any information about the suspect still at large, please contact VUPD at (615) 322-2745.

Original security notice: On Tuesday, Nov. 11, at approximately 9:50 a.m., a professor returned to her office in the Stevenson Center and saw two men. The men had loaded her computer into a backpack, and when they noticed her, they fled. The men pushed past the professor and one punched her, knocking her down as well as struggling with another staff member before fleeing the area. Both suspects left campus, crossing West End Avenue on foot.

Description: Both suspects are described as black males in their late teens or early 20s and are pictured below. Both have slender builds. The male with the longer, dreadlocked hair and wearing a white T-shirt is also a suspect in several other thefts around the university. He has numerous tattoos on his left arm and has black-and-red tennis shoes.

The other man has short, close-cropped hair and was last seen in a green jacket and camouflaged pants and black tennis shoes.
