Novelist and essayist Jan Carson from Belfast, Northern Ireland, will read excerpts from her new novella beginning at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt.
Carson is also a cultural director for Belfast’s historic Ulster Hall. Sister Cities will host a reception immediately following the reading in celebration of the creative links between Belfast and Nashville. Both events are free and open to the public.
Carson completed her B.A. in English Literature at Queens University in Belfast and has a master’s in theology and contemporary culture. She has led many creative writing workshops and read extensively in Britain, Ireland and the United States.
Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt is located at 2525 West End Ave. Free parking is available in the 2525 garage directly behind the bookstore.
