SECURITY NOTICE: Attempted abduction on campus – UPDATE

UPDATE: Attempted abduction – person and vehicle of interest

Scott Douglas Wallace, age 38, 5’10”, 250 lbs.

On Sept. 21 at 2:12 a.m., a female was the victim of an apparent attempted stranger abduction while she was walking on 25th Avenue South and Jess Neely Drive on the Vanderbilt campus. Scott Douglas Wallace has been identified as a person of interest. He may be driving a 2001 white Chevrolet Venture with Ohio tag GES7128.

Original post: On Sept. 21 at 2:12 a.m., a visitor to the Vanderbilt campus was crossing 25th Avenue South at the intersection with Jess Neely Drive when a white male got out of his vehicle, tackled her, and seemed to attempt to force her into his vehicle. The victim fought back. A group of witnesses saw the assault and went to the victim’s aid. The suspect got back into his vehicle and was last seen on camera driving north on Natchez Trace toward West End Avenue.

Description: The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 35 to 40 years old, wearing a dirty white t-shirt, dark shorts and dark shoes. The vehicle was described as an older white van with a black stripe on both sides.
