Hewlett-Packard issued a recall last week on notebook computer and docking station AC power cords. These particular cords can overheat and pose a potential fire and burn hazard, according to the HP Safety Recall and Replacement Program.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice states that LS-15 AC power cords were sold in tandem with HP and Compaq notebook and mini-notebook computers. The cords are black and have an “LS-15” mark on the adapter end of the cord. HP estimates that more than 500,000 units may have been affected in the United States.
