The summer of 2014 marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Vanderbilt Faculty and Physician Wellness Program (FPWP).
In 1999, Work/Life Connections–EAP, under the leadership of Executive Director Mary Yarbrough, developed a specialized program to offer psychological support to Vanderbilt faculty in all 10 university schools, as well as medical center house staff, spouses and same-sex domestic partners.
Since the FPWP was established, more than 2,500 faculty, physicians and their significant others have received counseling, coaching, consultation and other services from Work/Life Connections–EAP’s team of licensed professionals. These services are provided in an easily accessible, confidential and compassionate environment. The program is known throughout the country as a model for targeted and effective intervention for university and medical center professionals.
