Minutes from the University Staff Advisory Council’s May 13 meeting are now available online on the USAC website.
David Owens, professor for the practice of management and innovation at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management, was the guest speaker for May. Owens, author of Creative People Must Be Stopped: Six Ways We Kill Innovation (Without Even Trying), discussed several road blocks to innovation and how to combat these deterrents to creating change.
Eric Kopstain, who was recently named vice chancellor for administration, was introduced to the group and made brief remarks.
In addition, staff council officers for 2014-15 were elected. They are: Michelle Kovash, president; Rachel Poss, vice president and president-elect; Ally McIntosh, secretary; and Eric Jones, treasurer.
