University-Wide Limited Submission Opportunity: American Diabetes Association

Vanderbilt may nominate one Medical Center and one University candidate for the 2014 Pathway to Stop Diabetes awards competition. The nominee may apply for one of the following:  Diabetes Research Career Initiator (researchers in training), Diabetes Research Accelerator (early-career investigators), or Diabetes Research Accelerator (established investigators).

Anyone interested in being considered as Vanderbilt’s nominee must submit the following (in PDF format) to LSO@vanderbilt.edu  by 5 p.m. on May 30, 2014. 

  1. Brief (2 page maximum) research plan including summary budget;
  2. Brief statement of support from department chair/center director;
  3. A brief CV or NIH Biosketch

Submissions should reference the program name in the subject line of the email.  All applicants should verify their eligibility in advance through the sponsor website. Please review all requirements of the grant and discuss with the appropriate department chair/center director before submitting.

Once received, all proposals will be forwarded to an internal review committee that will choose the final nominee. The chosen nominee will submit a full proposal to the Foundation by the July 1, 2014 deadline.
