Routine tuberculosis (TB) skin testing for Vanderbilt staff and faculty will resume Monday, Dec. 16, after temporarily being suspended since September due to a national shortage of the TB skin testing solution Tubersol.
Staff and faculty who were unable to receive an annual TB skin test (TST) during the temporary suspension can now resume testing. Occupational Health is planning TST events throughout the Medical Center to allow those who missed tests during the hiatus to catch up. Individuals who are due for a skin test will also receive an email from OHC to advise them of TST availability.
Places and times TB skin tests are available include:
• TST Express will be on the sixth floor of the Medical Arts Building from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Dec. 16-20.
• OHC at Vanderbilt Health One Hundred Oaks, room 21000, every Thursday from 8 to 11:30 a.m.
• OHC Late Night Cart in Vanderbilt University Hospital from 6 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
• Vanderbilt Urology Clinic at 2009 Mallory Lane, Suite 210) from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20.
• Vanderbilt Oncology Clinic at 324 Cool Springs Blvd. from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20.
• The Occupational Health Clinic at 640 Medical Arts Building, every Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. No appointment necessary.
Look for Compliance Hotspots starting in January, with many more locations for TSTs and other required shots in plenty of time for people to get into compliance before performance evaluations. Watch for the Hotspot calendar in MyVUMC and on the OHC website.
