Philanthropy by Vanderbilt’s dedicated community of supporters has a tremendous impact on programs that benefit students, faculty, staff and patients. Vanderbilt extends its gratitude for record-breaking support during its most recent fiscal year, which ended June 30.
Here’s a recap:
> Total of $163 million raised, a 41 percent increase over the previous year
> $31 million raised for Opportunity Vanderbilt
> Reached benchmark of $150 million raised for Opportunity Vanderbilt since its 2009 inception
> Gifts were made by 26,608 alumni—an alumni participation record
> The School of Medicine’s Scholarship Initiative raised more than $3.8 million for medical student support, a 166 percent increase over the previous year
> Number of donors among Graduates of the Last Decade (G.O.L.D.s) increased by 19 percent*
> Senior class giving increased by 36 percent over the previous year
> Number of graduating seniors who make gifts has increased by more than 300 percent since 2010
* This group also met a challenge that resulted in an additional $100,000 gift for Opportunity Vanderbilt from an anonymous donor.
