Help cheer on kids participating in Mayor’s Challenge 5K

The Mayor's Challenge 5K Walk/Run and Kids' Fun Run will be held Nov. 17.

The third annual Mayor’s Challenge 5K Walk/Run and Kids’ Fun Run will be held Sunday, Nov. 17, starting at Public Square Park outside the Metro Courthouse. Activities begin at noon. The Kids’ Fun Run starts at 2 p.m., with the 5K following at 2:15 p.m.

Vanderbilt University and Medical Center and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt are proud sponsors of the event. Volunteers are needed for the Kids’ Fun Run, a .75-mile course for children 12 and younger. Volunteers will line the route to cheer the children on and keep them safely on course. The time commitment to volunteer is from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m.

Participating runners and walkers are encouraged to arrive at least one hour before their start time. The events are completely free and individuals of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to join.

Please email jill.forbert@vanderbilt.edu if you would like to volunteer.
