Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt has partnered with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival. Shakespeare in the Park is one of Nashville’s premier performing arts events in which thousands of people attend each summer. The partnership between B&N Vanderbilt and the Nashville Shakespeare Festival is the first of its kind and will surely prove to be mutually beneficial.
On days when the Festival is rained out, Barnes & Noble will open its doors to the audience and provide space for the actors to perform segments of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The main display window at Barnes & Noble has been transformed by costumer June Kennedy and artist Morgan Matens. All of the costumes have been beautifully constructed using recycled plastic bags, Starbucks cups and coffee bags.
The Nashville Shakespeare Festival will facilitate a children’s story time for 5 consecutive Saturdays beginning Aug. 17 at 4 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Vanderbilt.
Kids will be thrilled to meet actors from the show, hear stories told by the actors as well as various craft projects.
Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt looks forward to a long and happy relationship with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival. Shakespeare in the Park opens Aug. 15 and runs through Sept.15.
