On Thursday, July 11, 1-2:30 a.m., emergency power to 120 volt “red” outlets throughout Vanderbilt University Hospital and patient room lighting will be interrupted.
Normal power 120 volt “ivory” outlets will not be affected, nor will corridor or nurses’ station lighting. None of the operating rooms will be affected nor will any area of the Critical Care Tower.
Electricians will be stationed on every VUH unit prior to and during the outage. The North Emergency Operations Center will be open and clearance will be obtained from every unit prior to the outage. Standard Yellow Alert Stand-by and Orange Alert for electricity overhead pages will be issued.
