The Vanderbilt University Alumni Association board is pleased to announce the addition of seven new members. Each new member was unanimously approved during the April 12 Board of Trust meeting, and their three-year terms began July 1, 2013.
“Our new members are active alumni who generously donate time, treasure and talents to Vanderbilt and also represent the increasing diversity of our alumni population,” said Patti Early White, BA’76, chair of the Board Nominations Committee.
The new board members are:
Cathy Cox, BE’95, a producer at Sony Computer Entertainment America in San Diego. Cox is an active volunteer, former co-president of the San Diego Alumni Association chapter and has attended four of the last seven Reunions/Homecomings.
Lauren Duncan, BS’01, started her pharmaceutical career 12 years ago with Pfizer Inc., and now works at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, a specialty biopharmaceutical company, as a specialty sales consultant for the Pain Business Unit. Duncan served on the Nashville chapter steering committee and was the vice president of the AVBA.
Jonathan Ian Glasgow, BA’98, a power trader with Exelon Corporation. Glasgow served as a member of the steering committee for and president of the Philadelphia Alumni Association chapter and is currently working to start a new chapter in his new home of Baltimore.
Michael Han, MS’97, a civil engineer at Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon in Nashville, Tenn. Han serves on the steering committee for the Nashville Alumni Association chapter as the athletics chair and contributed a chapter in the guidebook for new international students at Vanderbilt, A Guide to Vanderbilt Sports. His son, Oliver, is a 2012 Vanderbilt graduate.
Dan Lovinger, BA’87, the executive vice president of Cable Advertising Sales for NBCUniversal in New York City. Lovinger is an active volunteer and created and leads the successful Vanderbilt on Madison Avenue internship program. He is also a current Vanderbilt parent.
Mathew Pender, BA’92, president of MVP Communications in Miami Beach, Fla. Pender is the former president and an active volunteer with the Miami chapter.
Jeff Spencer, BS’83 and MD’87, an anesthesiologist at Northern Westchester Anesthesia Services. Spencer lives in Harrison, N.Y., where he has been an active CoRPs volunteer and has served as a gift chair for the medical school. His daughter, Maddy, is in the Class of 2016 at Vanderbilt.
