1,000 Words: Nashville Shines

Named America’s friendliest city for three years running, Nashville has suddenly become a media darling, garnering rave reviews from The Today Show, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, GQ, Condé Nast Traveler and more in recent months. Music City is also the setting for the ABC drama Nashville. Vanderbilt is proud to bask in the reflected glory of its city, which more than 20,000 alumni call home. The university has a significant impact on the local economy, attracting more than 700,000 visitors to Nashville each year. Shown here under construction is the city’s new 1.2 million-square-foot downtown convention space, the Music City Center.
