Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Multiple Sclerosis Center has been named a Comprehensive Care Center by the National MS Society.
The group’s highest designation, a Center for Comprehensive MS Care offers a multi-disciplinary model of care to address the complex needs of MS patients, with a full array of medical, psycho-social and rehabilitation services delivered in a coordinated fashion.
The Vanderbilt MS Center is one of the largest in the Southeast, seeing more than 4,000 patient visits per year. The center offers comprehensive evaluation, treatment and education for patients and families in collaboration with an expert team of nurses, ancillary care providers and specialists in related fields such as psychology, psychiatry and radiology.
Clinical studies are under way evaluating the use of oral and IV forms of treatment for MS.
