“Diabetes at Vanderbilt: From Molecules to People,” a scientific symposium to highlight diabetes research at Vanderbilt, will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Vanderbilt Student Life Center.

The day’s events include a keynote address by Morris Birnbaum, M.D., Ph.D., professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, the presentation of research and service awards, lunch, research posters and faculty presentations.

Birnbaum will discuss the control of liver metabolism in health and disease.

The symposium is sponsored by the Vanderbilt Diabetes Research and Training Center and the Vanderbilt Center for Diabetes Translation Research, two National Institutes of Health-supported centers that together aim to move basic research findings from the laboratory to the clinic and to the community.
