VanDIY will present “Beyond the Birds and the Bees: How to Talk With Your Children and Teens About Sexuality” from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Student Life Center, lower level rooms 1 and 2.
At some point, parents will face a time when they have to address sexuality topics with their children. They may need to prepare a teenager for puberty or dating or help a child learn how to stay safe. This upcoming VanDIY session aims to equip parents with the information, skills and confidence needed to discuss different sexuality topics with their children.
Facilitated by Kayce Matthews, associate director of the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center at Vanderbilt, participants will identify concrete strategies and information for getting the conversation started, becoming comfortable answering difficult questions, and clarifying and teaching their family’s values.
Lunch will be provided to the first 50 people who RSVP.
