Summit set to explore concussion care, research

The Vanderbilt Sports Concussion Center is hosting a summit for Vanderbilt clinicians and researchers involved in concussion care or research within the University or Medical Center.

The Vanderbilt Sports Concussion Center is hosting a summit for Vanderbilt clinicians and researchers involved in concussion care or research within the University or Medical Center.

During “Concussion Services at Vanderbilt: State of the Art,” groups will have the opportunity to present their current work related to concussion issues. Attendees will discuss relevant topics with the goal of promoting new collaborations and affiliations among current centers of excellence at Vanderbilt.

The summit will be Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Medical Center North room C-2209. Breakfast will be served.

Presentations will highlight a diversity of disciplines and topics, including sports medicine providers, surgeons, advanced imaging techniques, biomechanics and materials engineering, public policy and advocacy, outcomes research, cognitive issues, balance and vestibular rehab.

The summit is open only to faculty and staff involved in concussion care or research. Each presenter is allotted 10 minutes for presentation and five minutes for discussion.
