In late September, two coaches and three players from the Netherlands National Baseball 18-and-under Team came to campus to observe team practices and learn from Vanderbilt players and coaches.

Vanderbilt associate head coach and pitching coach Derek Johnson has been active on the international speaking circuit over the last year, making multiple trips to Europe to speak about baseball. During his travels, he met members of the Dutch team and invited them for a visit.

The Dutch team is expected to return the favor and host Johnson prior to the Commodores’ upcoming season.
