Members of the Vanderbilt and Nashville communities, as well as employees of VUPD, are invited to attend the forum at the Support Services Annex located at 115 28th Ave. S. – in the former Bridge Club building.

VUPD is seeking international re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). An on-site assessment team from CALEA will be at Vanderbilt on Aug. 7 and feedback provided at the forum will be considered as part of the group’s assessment of Vanderbilt.

CALEA’s accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-profession standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

Those who cannot attend the forum may also offer feedback in the following ways:

Contact CALEA’s on-site assessment team by phone at (615) 322-5936 on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Contact Vanderbilt Police Lt. Kevin Cleveland at (615) 343-7222.

Submit written comments to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), at 13575 Heathcote Blvd, Suite 320 Gainesville, VA 20155 or call (703) 352-4225 or fax (703) 890-3126.

Community comments offered by phone or during the public information session will be limited to 10 minutes and must address VUPD’s ability to comply with CALEA standards.
