Dear readers,
I made a mistake.
When choosing our contest winners, our judges accidentally attributed each winning answer to the author of the answer before it.*
As the editor of this blog, I should have caught this. I sincerely apologize to the contestants whose answers were attributed to other people.
The winning answers were written by: Matthew Binkley, William Hamblen, Richard Breyer and DJ (no last name).
The objects crossing the Sun during the Venus transit were distant aircraft. The explanations of our winners were well thought out and included some great details.
To arrange your private viewing session at Dyer Observatory, please call Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory at 615-373-4897 before July 16th. Leave your name and contact information.
