Join musicians from Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music as they explore the roots of one of America’s most popular folk art forms on Thursday, April 19, at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s Polk Theater.

The program will feature the head of Blair’s fiddle department, Matt Combs, along with Alison Brown, banjo professor and co-owner of Compass Records, for a selection of mountain music featuring Blair faculty members and students.

The Inside Out of the Lunchbox event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. Box lunches will be provided for the first 300 people to RSVP to (615) 322-8585 or register online by April 17. Registration is required to receive the complimentary lunch.

To help defray the cost of the luncheon series, cash donations will be accepted at the door.  A portion of the proceeds collected at this luncheon will be donated to the ALIAS chamber ensemble.
