The April program for My Health Chat will be the promising world of cancer drug discovery.
Panelists will be Lawrence Marnett, director of the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology, and Stephen Fesik, director of drug discovery at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
They will discuss and take questions regarding how information about the genetic drivers of cancer can be used to tailor treatments that are more effective, and how new scientific methods are allowing for the targeting of proteins considered to be “un-druggable.”
Hosted by Vanderbilt University Medical Center and moderated by physician Jim Jirjis, these 30-minute live interactive video chats offer the public a chance to hear from and ask questions of scientists and physicians on the leading edge of advances in medicine.
The event will be streamed live from 1:30 to 2 p.m. (CST) Wednesday, April 11, on Facebook and at MyHealthChat.com.
