Information Technology Services will begin migrating Vmail mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 in April. For the majority of the Vanderbilt community, this process is not expected to pose any issues.

For users who are still using Outlook 2003, RPC encryption must be enabled. There are two methods for achieving this:

  • For departments that manage profiles using Group Policy, RPC encryption can be enabled using their group policy.

For clients who use Entourage 2004 or 2008 (Office for Mac), it is strongly recommended they upgrade to Outlook 2011 or Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition. More information can be found at the Microsoft website.

Anyone who is interested in migrating early may submit a request via email  if they have not already notified their service delivery manager. Anyone who has special scheduling needs for their migrations should contact their service delivery manager.

More specific scheduling information will be published as it becomes available. For more information, contact the ITS Helpdesk at (615) 343-9999.
