Watch video of Community Connections’ 2nd Gardening series presentation – “Preparing Your Garden for Spring” with Cindy Wedel, Director, Service Excellence Coaching & Consulting.

Cindy comes from a long line of gardeners.  Her father owned “Wedel’s Greenery” a small niche retail operation in Michigan.  Other family businesses were Caroline’s Gardens and Hingst Florist.

“I’ve been watching plants grow for as long as I can remember,” said Cindy. “One of my early memories is going to market with a truckload of gladiolas, which were bound for the Chicago Flower market.  On Sundays we would go to visit my Dad’s family and I would spend all my time in the greenhouses, pretending to sell plants to imaginary customers.”

Most of Cindy’s garden knowledge comes from her family; however she has completed the Davidson County Master Gardener Program.  Cindy is also past-president of the Middle Tennessee Perennial Plant Society.   When time permits, she volunteers at Cheekwood as a Garden Guide.
